this wednesday night, from 23:00 till 01:00, will be the second of 4 radio shows that Salon Bruit are making on the temporary radio station “Funk Welle”, 95,2 FM. it’s a small transmitter, but can also be listened to via internet stream http://www.funkwelle.org/

each show will have different hosts + guests + the special “Blind Date”.
The “Blind Date” is a special experiment in the radio show where invited guests, who have never played together before, improvise live in the studio. Not even the performers know who they will play with until they are in the studio. We tried this experiment on a weekly basis on our NotMusik show on Reboot.FM in 2004#

DRFLOY aka FLOY KROUCHI (Paris, fr)
“Turbulent flow”
Drfloy (neurotic electronics, acousmatic composer) experiencing for Salon Bruit sonic subjectivity , body, noise and silence in a live set specially conceived for the occasion : named “Turbulent flow”

and based on one of the physical definition of
Bruit (pronounced /ˈruːf1 t/, or as French IPA: [bʁf1 ɥ]) is the term for the unusual sound that blood makes when it rushes past an obstruction (called turbulent flow) in an artery when the sound is auscultated with the bell portion of a stethoscope.
In fluid dynamics, turbulence or turbulent flow is a fluid regime characterized by chaotic, stochastic property changes. This includes low momentum diffusion, high momentum convection, and rapid variation of pressure and velocity in space and time.

Distract Vibes (Netherlands)
Our intensions for our Acud concert are the same as in any other
concert we play. Promoting free spirits. Curious, openminded,
absorbing and critical spirits. No boundaries towards music, and arts in general. And of course hopefully inspire people to take action and create their own “free zone” in a world were commerce rules and moral control progresses.

LDL (Australia/Berlin)
The Players:
Julian Lalka-Percy: Six Strings, Effects, Trepan
Jon Sawade-Evans: MS20 Synthi, HAARP Generator
John Solis-Murphy: Theremin, Effects, Radionics

Statement:
“To the casual listener, this music may initially strike one as aural insect repellent, but this perception is an injustice, nay, an infamy.
In reality, this sound creeps up on one like an infinitely patient mugger, specialising in psychotic sucker-punches of the worst order.
Imagine, if you will, three gloriously malfunctioning shortwave receivers in search of a station, spinning their dials in a BASF landscape of allergenic pollutants, Will-O-the-Wisps gyrating over fields of skeletal ectoplasm, and one begins to have a premonition of how this truly
startling and wilfully perverse music may sound. It is not unlike an exotic stranger driven by a desire to seduce one in his own barbaric language before leaving one abandoned, skewered on a spike of prolonged malice.

Indeed, like the humble chaplain with his prayer book and iron drum, LDL search out the chronically abused demons of sound before laying them in their final resting place. Many times, I wish I had never heard this aberrant music, if only for the bitter pleasures of discovering it again… and again.” Chris Hughes, Musician and Musicologist

It will be a very visual night. So there are no pictures on this dates blog to spoil your imagination.

Hotel Nuclear (Italy)
“end game…” is the first of two projects that bring together the work of British writer J. G. Ballard whose dense novels are strongly influenced by surrealist painting. “end game…” video/installation/concert… Delineating the place where blades of light/levels of reality strike the landscape of the feelings in the distinctness of emotions.
“I felt I’d crossed the frontiers of a dream, got into an interior landscape of the psyche, projected into the sunny terraces around me.” J. G. Ballard

DeadFader (UK)
In 1991, my parents bought me my first computer. In 2002, I played my first live gig. I’m not really sure what happened in between. I like to make music and videos where I don’t do any hard work. I keep sounds when I think they’re interesting, look for them everywhere I can and I
put them together in ways that I think sound/look nice. I give all the stuff I make away for free cos I don’t particularly think it’s worth anything in that way. I’m interested in power, speed and duration as subject, the relaxation of control, choreography andeditorial as process and there’s no greater buzz than playing a gig.

Albert Mathias (San Fransisco)
